Gulf Coast Shutters
Storm Protection That Closes in Minutes

Accordion Shutters

Permanently installed accordion shutters glide closed across windows, doors, patios, and wide openings—giving you fast, dependable storm protection without ladders, loose panels, or special tools.
ACCORDION SHUTTERS

Accordion Shutters for Every Space

In Addition to protecting windows and doors, Accordion Shutters can secure other areas such as patios, terraces, balconies and other large expanses in an attractive way.

Fast, Simple Protection for Every Opening

When a storm is approaching, preparation should be simple. Gulf Coast Shutters’ accordion systems stay mounted beside each opening, slide smoothly into place, and lock securely from inside or outside.

They’re an excellent fit for sliding glass doors, balconies, patios, second-story windows, and wide openings. When the weather clears, the shutters fold neatly to the side and remain ready for next time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are accordion shutters hurricane-rated?
Yes. We offer accordion shutter systems engineered and approved for demanding coastal building requirements, including FBC, TDI, IRC/IBC, and Miami-Dade standards where specified.
Can they protect second-story windows?
Yes. Accordion shutters can protect upper-level openings and may be configured for operation from inside, reducing the need for ladders or roof access.
Do accordion shutters need to be removed or stored?
No. They remain permanently installed and fold compactly beside the opening when not in use, so there are no loose panels to carry or store.
Can the color match my home?
Yes. Standard options include white, bronze, ivory, and beige, with custom colors available by request.
Can I see outside when the shutters are closed?
Optional viewports are available, allowing you to monitor outdoor conditions without opening the shutter system.

Do aluminum shutters have a wood grain finish?
Aluminum shutters are available in a smooth or textured powder coat finish.
How are aluminum shutters assembled?
The aluminum shutters are cut to size and then fastened at key points. The rails are then overlapping to create a seamless appearance and enhanced strength. Powder coating is then applied to the shutters to make them scratch and weather resistant. In addition to looking great, our aluminum shutters are also storm rated to protect you from storms.
Can you build shutter designs that are not available on the website?
We build many types of custom shutters that are not listed on the website. Give us a call so we can discuss your custom design.
